What inspired you to want a life in Architecture and the creative industries?:
I have always been inspired by the way architecture shapes how we live, feel, and connect with our surroundings. From a young age, I was fascinated by buildings and spaces that told stories and evoked emotions, whether it was the calmness of a peaceful courtyard or the energy of a busy street. This curiosity about how design influences human experience led me towards architecture and the creative industries. I am driven by the opportunity to combine creativity with practicality to create spaces that not only look beautiful but also serve and uplift people in their everyday lives.
Who inspired you in finding your path to Architecture/Film and the creative industries?:
I’ve been inspired by many people in finding my path to architecture. Growing up, I admired architects and designers who transformed ideas into spaces that impact lives, such as Zaha Hadid for her bold, fluid designs. Seeing how architecture can shape emotions, perspectives, and society motivated me to pursue a path where I can express creativity and create meaningful experiences for others.
How you unlock obstacles and overcome bias in your work?:
When I encounter a problem, I take a step back to analyse it from different angles, seek feedback from others, and research alternative approaches to find the best way forward. To overcome bias, I actively question my assumptions and consider diverse perspectives, whether through peer reviews, user feedback, or studying case studies outside my usual influences. Staying curious, listening to others, and being willing to adapt my ideas help me create more inclusive, effective, and innovative work.
What improvements do you feel are required to promote effective change in the academic and working environment?:
I believe promoting effective change in both academic and working environments requires creating spaces that encourage open communication, collaboration, and inclusivity. In academia, there should be more focus on practical skills, mental health support, and bridging the gap between education and real-world industry expectations. In the workplace, fostering a culture where everyone feels heard and valued, providing clear development opportunities, and supporting diverse voices are essential. Overall, continuous learning, adaptability, and a supportive environment where people feel empowered to share ideas are key to driving meaningful change.y – instead of 3 in / 1 out / 2 back / 1 out
