What inspired you to want a life in Architecture and the creative industries?:
The art development of what we create and design, forming life and space for people, is something I have always felt passionate about. Architecture involves much more than a building, but also the details which are unseen, though making a big difference to the overall stability and beauty of the building. This creative industry promotes collaboration with various professions to create a great project, allowing you to consistently learn and advance your career. There are many influential architects that I’m inspired by and they all have their unique style, which demonstrates the flexibility of this industry. Hence, I also aspire to develop within my field of Architecture.

Who inspired you in finding your path to Architecture/Film and the creative industries?:
I always loved being creative, and I knew this from playing Minecraft in my early years. However, finding my path in Architecture was inspired by my teacher who saw my passion to art but also my continuous inclination to buildings. She then introduced me to Architecture and what more I could do in the industry if I pursued going into University for it, which was the motivation I needed to land my path straight to Architecture. I have never regretted it ever since.

How you unlock obstacles and overcome bias in your work?:
Sometimes, a breather away from my work and coming back to it later enables me to unlock all obstacles and difficulties in my work progression, especially when I feel overwhelmed. I also ask for help and seek others’ opinions on my work to gain advice and different views, which always worked well.

What improvements do you feel are required to promote effective change in the academic and working environment?:
Graduates with 1st Class degrees to even a 3rd still struggle with their career progression and academic progression, simply because I believe there’s not enough guidance and preparation set and neither an open community where students can come together and learn with others across the industry of Architecture. I also believe that there aren’t enough jobs to suffice for the great multitude of new graduates yearly to progress and educate the rising junior Architects.
