What inspired you to want a life in Architecture and the creative industries?:
I believe that creativity is a trait that, if you possess it, demands expression in one way or another, no matter what path you choose in life. For me, architecture holds a unique quality in that it combines creativity with logic and deep human connection. It strikes the perfect balance between imagination, reason, and the ability to understand and meet people’s needs. Through this practice, you not only experience the magic of seeing ideas that once existed only in your mind come to life, but also the profound power architecture has to shape and improve people’s lives. I can’t imagine a more rewarding way to live.

Who inspired you in finding your path to Architecture/Film and the creative industries?:
Discovering Luis Barragán’s architecture changed my life forever. Even though his body of work is not extensive and the scale of his designs is fairly domestic, to me, he represents the true essence of dedicating one’s life to a passion. His ability to strip away superfluous decoration in favor of simple, clean lines without sacrificing the quality of space is truly inspiring. His use of natural light as an architectural element, combined with his mastery of color and texture through a reinterpretation of vernacular practices—at a time when such an approach was unprecedented—is profoundly motivating.

How you unlock obstacles and overcome bias in your work?:
Obstacles are catalysts for creativity. Designing without restrictions, boundaries to push, or problems to solve would somehow be a soulless task. The best designs emerge from creative solutions to a range of challenges—whether it’s working within a budget, resolving complex functionality, adapting to demanding sites, or managing individual expectations. To me, challenging established norms and expectations is an essential part of the creative process.

What improvements do you feel are required to promote effective change in the academic and working environment?:
Effective change in the academic and working environment will come from truly embracing differences—different ways of thinking, approaching, and solving problems. Genuinely creating the conditions to learn from a diverse range of points of view, backgrounds, and experiences would enrich both academic and professional experiences, regardless of hierarchies.
